COCONA, a member of a global HipHop/R&B-inspired group XG, marked their 20th birthday today, December 6th, by sharing a heartfelt message on social media.
COCONA stated they identified as AFAB (Assigned Female At Birth) Transmasculine Non-Binary, and revealed that they underwent top surgery earlier this year. In their post, they expressed that accepting themself has opened new doors and brought emotional growth and courage.
They also thanked their fellow XG members, executive producer JAKOPS (SIMON), and their parents for listening and supporting them throughout their journey.
"Hi, it’s COCONA.
Today, I turn 20.
As I reach this milestone, I wanted to take a moment to share something that’s been deep in my heart for a long time.
I am AFAB Transmasculine Non-binary. Earlier this year, I underwent top surgery. I was assigned female at birth, but I don’t see myself as a woman. I feel a strong discomfort being seen as “female,” and I live my life feeling more aligned with a masculine identity.
The hardest thing I’ve ever faced in life was accepting and embracing myself. But now, having taken even a tiny step forward, just 0.1 of a step, I feel like I’ve opened a new door.
Opening that door has broadened my perspective and changed how I see and interpret the world. It has given me emotional growth and courage. Now, I can finally feel that what’s inside me isn’t something to be ashamed of.
I owe this to the people who listened to me, who stood by me, my fellow members, Simon-san, and my parents.
I’m deeply grateful for this and all the miraculous connections I’ve been blessed with.
This got a little long, but I truly want to express my gratitude for everyone who’s supported me along the way.
I’m excited for the future I’ll continue to build with XG and XGALX.

I hope this message can gently light a spark in someone’s heart.
And may my love reach everyone who needs it.
With love, always.
Their message stands as a moving and courageous moment in XG’s journey, not just musically, but also personally and socially.
Following COCONA’s post, JAKOPS (SIMON) - CEO of XGALX and executive producer of XG, shared a message on his personal Instagram alongside a group photo of himself and the XG members, taken during their seijin-shiki (Coming of Age celebration).
【Full comment from JAKOPS (SIMON)】
Hello, it’s me, SIMON.
Today, as COCONA bravely shared their truth with the world, I am filled with deep emotion and respect.
I will continue to offer sincere support so that each member is respected not only as a performing artist but also as a human being who can love their own life. Of course I am proud of XG’s vibrant music and visuals, but what I want to share with the world most of all is the pure and genuine hearts of our members.
That true energy, love, and personal growth are the very core of XG and XGALX. Like the chip at the heart of a semiconductor, it may not be visible from the outside, but it is the engine that powers everything.
From here on, I will continue to protect this CORE, resonate with the members’ inner frequencies, and do everything I can to ensure those vibrations spread warmth across the world.
It has now been eight years since I first met XG, and as of today, every member has officially become an adult.
To mark this milestone, I’d like to share with you a commemorative photo we took on the day of this year’s Coming of Age Ceremony.
May the members’ courage, love, and journey of growth bring inspiration and hope to many people.
With deep respect and love,
- SIMON (JAKOPS)
It was a heartfelt affirmation of the group’s shared values; compassion, growth, and individuality, and a public show of support for COCONA as they step forward into this new chapter.
XG's first full album, THE CORE, will be released on January 23, 2026. Following this, the group will embark on their second world tour, “XG WORLD TOUR: THE CORE,” starting in February. XG will appear as a guest performer on NBC's "The Voice" with their song 'Gala' on December 16.
