It is nice to hear the finger picked chords at the start of ‘God i’ – set the track off in a fashion that had us more invested than usual. Hull’s Brodie Milner makes good on that opening too with a sparkling array of sequences that suggests we are dealing with a personality beyond the pale. ‘God i’ could easily have become an exercise in sermonising but it never gets preachy, in fact come the end the only devotion in evidence was the attention we were conveying.
