London is set for a wet spell this week, with persistent rain forecast across the city.
The wet conditions will bring some relief from colder temperatures, with highs remaining in the double digits for most of the week.
Thursday will be the coldest day, featuring light showers until lunchtime before turning mostly dry, with a peak temperature around 7°C.
The Met Office forecasts a milder outlook for Friday.
The day is expected to bring sunny intervals throughout the afternoon, with light rain returning around 5 p.m.
Saturday will see continued showers, but temperatures will rise to around 12°C.
Sunday morning is set to bring the heaviest rainfall of the week, gradually tapering off, with a peak temperature near 14°C.
The rest of next week will see persistent light rain, with highs ranging between 13°C and 14°C.
The Met Office advises that Thursday will experience cloud and intermittent heavy rain, clearing by early afternoon.
Largely dry conditions with bright or sunny spells will follow, though a few heavy showers are expected along the south coast.
“Maximum temperature 9C,” the Met Office said.
Thursday night will be mostly clear, with widespread frost and patchy freezing fog, although some heavy showers may hit the English Channel coasts.
Friday will start dry with bright spells once patchy morning fog clears, before wet and windy conditions spread east in the afternoon.
Coastal gales are possible during the evening.
