What a dramatic opening, leaping into rock opera from the off and feeling like we’re at the heart of a band with an engine that could power a space shuttle. Probably little surprise that Bristol’s Mould have called the track ‘Float’ because it has that sense of levity, while still being able to lay down a marker for those who go for the punchier side of proceedings. I felt they were on the onward march and rather than confront it it might be better to just roll in with Mould’s trajectory. Impressively they all deal a fatal blow on today’s obsession with self, so we were looking at the complete polemic here. Anthem. KH
