The iconic Tiny Desk has gained a new artist into their hall of fame; this time the iconic K-pop group SEVENTEEN graced the space with their talent. Celebrating their ten-year anniversary, the group have had quite the year, and this is bound to be the cherry on top. Members JOSHUA, MINGYU, SEUNGKWAN, VERNON, and DINO proceeded to wow with their vocals on reimagined tracks such as “Super.” Which is the ultimate opening, especially if you've ever seen them live. The perfect track to get the crowd ready to have the most interactive and fun experience.

As this group doesn't just sing, they soar, they make sure the audience is at times just as much a part of the show as them. Although stripped back, it highlighted their talent, and the quintet went on to showcase their beloved charisma and humour. Halfway through the set an audience member shouted out a track request, calling out “HBD” in response to their question, “Do you have any favourite SEVENTEEN songs?” although it wasn't part of the final setlist. How could they? With an extensive and impressive ten year catalogue narrowing it down to just nine tracks would be no easy feat. However they still catered to the fans and performed an acapella rendition, making it that little bit more special for those in attendance.

That skill to make sure the crowd is involved and having fun is always evident in the never-ending and much-loved "VERY NICE", which had to be included as it rounded off the set. Hits such as the gorgeous “Darl+ing”, the melodic and joyful “To You”, and the fan favourite “_WORLD” made their way into the set.

Of course, no SEVENTEEN performance is complete without the energetic and mighty anthems, which they included in abundance. The energy ramped back up with bouncy pop-rock tracks like 2023’s “SOS (Prod. Marshmello)” and “Rock with You”, which made sure to truly highlight how tight Seungkwhan is in particular at singing. Shortly after, electrifying guitar riffs kicked into high-octane anthems "CLAP" and the incredible "HOT". Although the tight choreography we love to see onstage wasn't there, the vocals, charm, and warmth shone and proved just why they are at the top of their game.

“We expected a more calm and quiet vibe because it’s an actual office, but it’s literally a concert,” said SEVENTEEN with amused astonishment. With them being the first K-pop act to deliver a Tiny Desk concert from NPR’s office in Washington, D.C., their nerves were a little high, as was to be expected, with them expressing to those watching that they were relieved of that fear. “Thank you for making us feel so comfortable. You really boosted our confidence.”

In this Tiny Desk concert, SEVENTEEN distilled the essence of their 10-year legacy—vocal prowess, chemistry, individual calibre, and above all, infectious joy—once again proving why their live shows are beloved worldwide.

SEVENTEEN will continue their ongoing world tour ‘NEW_’, with their dome dates in Japan (November - December) and stadium stops in Singapore, Bangkok and the Philippines next year.
