Manchester United have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig for the transfer of Benjamin Sesko to Old Trafford this summer. Man United reportedly will be paying a fixed fee worth 76.5 million euros, with easy bonuses up to 8.5 million euros to sign the Slovenian striker.
The Red Devils’ quest for a new striker successfully led them to acquire the Slovenian international from Leipzig. After reaching a personal agreement with the player, Man United eventually got the approval from the Bundesliga outfit regarding the transfer fee.
As reported by David Ornenstein and Fabrizio Romano, United will sign Sesko for a fixed fee worth 76.5 million euros with an additional 8.5 million bonuses. Bruno Amorim’s side also ensured that the bonuses are easily accessible, making the potential deal go up to 85 million in total.
After the agreement between clubs, United are expecting to complete the Sesko signing before the weekend. The 22-year-old is expected to arrive at Manchester later today and have his medical on Friday, before signing his contract.
In their attempt to snatch Sesko, United beat the competition from Newcastle United, who are even willing to pay 5 million euros more. However, the player preferred to join Amorin’s team instead of the Mapgies.
The signing of Sesko could also trigger a potential departure at Man U’s current attacking roster, with Rasmus Hoijlund being the one who could leave. The Danish international has several interests, notably from Italy, with AC Milan being the main candidate for now.
