Following the announcement of her highly anticipated debut album, The Consequence of Love, Rianne Downey has released the latest single, “Angel.” The album is set to arrive on October 17 via Run On.
“Angel” is a soaring country anthem that highlights Downey’s powerful, raw vocals with a stripped-back and beautiful arrangement. The full album, which features ten tracks all written by Downey, was produced by Grammy winner Ryan Hadlock (Zach Bryan, Brandi Carlisle) at Bear Creek Studio in Seattle.
Of the track, Rianne states,
‘Angel’ is one of those songs where I sat back and thought, “Did I just write that?” It’s probably the track I’m proudest of. A classic fingerpicked country tune, I wanted it to feel timeless, like it could’ve been written today or in the 1950s.
After a stunning performance at TRNSMT Festival, Downey will embark on a 12-date UK & Ireland tour this winter. The tour kicks off with a sold-out show in Hull on October 12, includes another sold-out date in London on October 29, and will conclude with a hometown show in Glasgow on December 6.
