For World No. 2 Rory McIlroy, 2025 has been a whirlwind year in a good way. But the biggest moment of his season, and maybe career, was his Masters victory in April. With major season now over, it appears McIlroy has resumed the celebration of his fifth major title in Saint-Tropez, France.
That’s based on a recent viral video of the McIlroy smiling, dancing and dropping a huge green-jacket flex.
Last week, McIlroy competed in his second Open Championship at Royal Portrush not far from where he grew up in Northern Ireland. It was a huge moment for the star and his home-country fans. And the pressure was on given that when the Open last visited Portrush in 2019, he infamously missed the cut.
Not so this time. At the 2025 Open, McIlroy kept the crowd entertained all week, eventually polishing off a respectable T7-finish for the Northern Irish fans.

But as he said that week, McIlroy and the Portrush faithful also treated this year’s Open like a weeklong celebration for McIlroy’s Masters win, the final leg of his career Grand Slam.
It turns out the celebration didn’t end there. Following his emotional Open week, McIlroy travelled to Saint-Tropez, France, for some R&R.
In a viral video posted by @ziregolf, one fan came across McIlroy dancing at a bar during his sunny vacation. He quickly typed the following message on his phone, flashed it in McIlroy’s direction, and shouted the same question, “Where’s the green jacket?”
Once McIlroy, drink in hand, noticed the message, he pointed and smiled at the fan, then walked over to him and said, “It’s on the yacht!”
The golf legend then danced away while smiling and laughing to continue his celebration with his friends.
