Last night (July 25), the Britpop giants played the first of seven Live ’25 dates at London’s Wembley Stadium, following two gigs in Cardiff and a five-night homecoming residency at Manchester’s Heaton Park.

They mark their first gigs together since Liam and Noel’s 2009 split, and will continue on Saturday (26), next Wednesday (July 30), Saturday (August 2) and Sunday (3), wrapping up after the huge reunion tour hits Edinburgh, Dublin and North America, after which they’ll head back to London for an additional two concerts at Wembley on September 27 and 28.

The Gallagher brothers strode onstage to huge cheers from the crowd before storming through hits like ‘Acquiesce’, ‘Morning Glory’ and ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’, with Liam teasing the crowd before the latter: “Don’t be booing Arsenal Fans. Just because you’re not top of the league. It isn’t our fucking problem.”

Further along in the set, Noel introduced ‘Half The World Away’, on which he took lead vocals, by saying: “This next one’s for the Royal Family. The real Royle Family.” Fans on social media said the energy for their first night at Wembley was “incredible”, with many reporting that the crowd were so loud when the opening songs played, you almost couldn’t hear Oasis.

“Never seen anything like it,” one X/Twitter user said, with another adding: “What a fuckin sight and sound that is.”
