Donnie CoCo – “Bad Word”

The debut single from Philadelphia-based artist Donnie CoCo, “Bad Word” struts a stylish immersion with powerful vocal layers melding grippingly with a sophisticated rock and art-folk intertwining. Described as “an honest and vulnerable exclamation of isolation amidst uncertainty,” the track excels in its considerable intrigue. “I’m not safe here, someone let me in,” the vocals beckon to start, referencing a place “no one dares to go,” as trickling guitars and twinkling keys adorn alongside.

“No one said it would be easy,” they continue, alongside a ghostly vocal reflection, into the soulful chorus. “Bad World” is a standout debut from Donnie CoCo, supplemented enjoyably by a stop-motion animated music video directed by Davey Levson and Dairys Escoto De Leon.
